Sensei recommends purchasing the full gear set below. (First option presented)

It contains everything you need for sparring and sparring related activities.

Including:

• Magnus Karate Gear Bag (1)
• Hand Gear 
• Foot Gear 
• Head Gear 

You will find multiple combinations of items grouped together for ease of purchase below. 

Additionally each major item (Bag, hands, head, and feet) are individually provided below. 

Whichever items you do not have – Sensei recommends you acquire them.

Only the gear listed on this landing page is approved and uniform to Magnus Karate. 

All Magnus Karate students wear sparring gear, and uniforms that are specific to our academy. 

Wearing outside sparring gear labeled by another martial arts school is not welcome. 

You are welcome to purchase gear from an outside source (other than through Magnus Karate) – however that gear must be the exact brand and color as presented in the items below. 

If you purchase gear that is not the exact brand and color match below we will decline its use in class. 

Example – I found a good deal on amazon, but it is not the red hand gear pictured below (and looks identical to what is pictured below) can my child use that ? – NO

Example: I have a friend and their child did karate and no longer needs their gear, however that gear is silver, can I wear it? – NO

Example: I acquired used gear and it is branded (stickers/decals) of another karate school, can I wear that? – NO

On average students own sparring gear for 2-3 years before an item needs to be replaced. In some circumstances and depending on the item we have had students keep the same hand gear for 4 years +! 

Non approved sparring gear (meaning the exact gear you see listed below) will not be allowed in class. 

Sensei or the teaching team will ask the student to put the gear away and borrow dojo gear for the remainder of class. At that point, we will advise the student not to bring that gear to class any longer. 

Once your gear set is delivered to you at the dojo your child should bring their gear and gear bag to every class they attend. 

Gear bags should be placed in the dojo lobby on the ground next to shoes. 

A gear bag rack is being built in the lobby for student storage.
