October Weapon Arts Classes & Leadership Team Events! 

We had another busy, fun filled week at the dojo last week! It kicked off with Buddy Week in our Junior Magnus, 7+ beginner, and green/brown classes. Each night we welcomed friends of our current students into our dojo and showed them what Magnus Karate is all about. It is always an exciting time – we are already looking forward to our next Buddy Week in November!

On Friday night our special trainings featured weapon arts classes and a Leadership Team team training. Our first class of the night was a weapons class for our 7+ beginner and green/brown population taught by Sensei and assisted by our Teaching Team members. Weapon arts class was followed by our Leadership Team team training. These once a month offerings are the backbone of our Leadership Team program and are coached by members of our teaching team, not Sensei. During a Leadership Team training our whole Leadership Team – all ages and ranks – have the opportunity to gather and work together without Sensei. It is a great opportunity for our students to practice their leadership skills and it inspires our younger leaders to see the possibilities for what they can do as they grow older at Magnus Karate.

We wrapped up our night with a second weapon arts session taught by Sensei. This class was attended primarily by our Black Belts and gave them the opportunity to dive deeper into their work with the eskrima and bo.
