September 2022 Dojo Events!

September is such an exciting time at the dojo – the energy is high as our students return to school and some of our favorite programs and events make their seasonal return. The first two weeks of the month have seen a back to school kick off, the start of our 10th Leadership Team season, and our first Parents’ Night Out event.

We kicked off the new school year with a bang! Some of our students spent the first Friday of September having a glow in the dark party, Nerf battle, pizza and a movie! This active member event was a night of making friends, developing team bonds, and creating community – it was a huge success.

Our Leadership Team kicked off their 10th season at the start of this month with a party filled with team building games, a Nerf battle, pizza and movie night! While the season began with a party – throughout the school year our young leaders will work on public speaking skills, teaching and coaching techniques, high level martial and weapons training, have opportunities to volunteer within the Magnus community, and a whole lot more. This group of pre-teen and teenaged advanced level students are on track to potentially join the Magnus Teaching Team when they enter high school.

Our first Parents’ Night Out event of the school year was a “Floor is Lava” night! The kids had a great time navigating through 4 stages of our Floor is Lava course, played Nerf, and watched DC Super-pets while enjoying pizza and pretzels. These monthly events are always a blast and a great bonding experience for the younger members of our dojo!
